Residential Planning & Development
We were contacted by a Client who had been recommended DMP’s services to obtain planning permission to convert an existing and substantial property from a nine-bedroom maisonette with 2no. separate flats at lower ground level into 2no. semi-detached houses; each providing 4 bedrooms and each benefiting from a separate two-bedroom flat at lower ground floor.
The Client required DMP undertake a full Measured Survey of the property which would then be developed into As-proposed drawings for a planning application.
The extensive property is located in a prominent location opposite Tunbridge Wells common. The existing property had been altered by the current owners to form a stunning spacious dwelling which suited their large family. The historic works had converted the property from 9 flat dwellings into a property with three separate dwellings.
DMP were required to undertake the measured survey within a tight time-frame before forming a feasibility scheme to be reviewed and considered by the Client. The chosen scheme then made up part of the planning application.
The property is located within the Tunbridge Wells conservation area and DMP were then required to form both a Heritage statement and Design and Access statement to support the planning drawings and application.
The DMP Solution
DMP were able to understand the Client’s specific requirements, specifying speed and achieve the aimed targets. We prepared proposed drawings for the property conversion and applied to Tunbridge Wells Borough Council planning department for permission.
DMP continued to discuss the planning application with the local planning officers and were able to make amendments where needed and if necessary at short notice.
It has been a privilege for DMP to work upon a property of such prominence and prestige within Tunbridge Wells.
