DMP lead the way for New Sports Hall Facility in Tunbridge Wells
DMP are pleased to advise following an instruction in 2014 to act as Project Managers and Employers Agent. Now with planning permission granted some three years later in Spring 2017; a tender package has been released for the Construction of a new £2.5 million Sports Hall Facility and adaption of an existing sports hall at Beechwood Sacred Heart School in Tunbridge Wells.
The Sports England approved a 5-court badminton Sports Hall be constructed over a redundant outdoor swimming pool and attached to the existing sports hall.
Substantial external ground works, drainage and landscaping have been carefully considered. The new facility shall provide the much needed additional space for teaching school PE and coaching; including a gym, dance studio, PE office and kitchen area. It is planned the sports hall will be provided with a new mezzanine floor with changing rooms and W/Cs on the ground floor and three new teaching classrooms, gallery space and office.
DMP have been coordinating the entire Design Team including Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Mechanical & Engineering, Acoustic, Fire Consultants and DMP’s own in-house team preparing the necessary General Arrangement Drawing.
DMP shall also be acting as Principal Designer throughout the project in accordance with the CDM-C regulations 2015.
Subject to successful tender Design & Build returns, it is hoped works shall commence in late January 2018 with an anticipated handover in December 2018.
