Our dynamic team have been carefully appointed to ensure we have the optimum industry experience, skills and technical expertise. Each valued member of staff is focused on delivering quality and professional standards on every project. Meet some of the team below;
John studied at Anglian Ruskin University achieving a BSc Hons in Architecture in 2003. Moving on to complete a post graduate building surveying program at University College of Estate Management.
John has been with DMP since 2004 and successfully acquired the business becoming Managing Partner in 2013.
Shortlisted for Best Businessman 2018, Best Business 1 - 25 Employees in 2019 and UK Construction Week Role Model class of 2019 - John is making an significant contribution to the industry.
John has a clear vision for DMP and is excited to be able to showcase this with the company identity and many new initiatives including ISO9001. This combined with the principles of leading the industry by example, succinct reporting, co-ordinated client management, outstanding communication and a one stop shop for service.
When John is not hard at work he enjoys spending time walking his three golden retrievers, which keeps him nice and fit, as usually he is the one left retrieving the ball!
Mike has an extensive background in human resources, training and quality assurance over the past 20 years, providing a bespoke consultancy service to independent companies across the South East.
Mike joined the DMP family as Partner in 2014 and has been involved in a number of strategic projects, specialising in HR, recruitment, marketing & branding. Most recently spearheading the ISO9001 accreditation.
Mike successfully completed an ILM Management qualification and has recently obtained his TAQA L4 award (Training Assessment Quality Assurance), which enables DMP to recruit and train new business apprentices.
In his spare time Mike likes to play super sleuth and detective, and often hosts murder mystery whodunit parties.
Claudine joins us bringing a wealth of finance and customer service experience having worked in the industry for many years. Claudine's key responsibility is the day to day financial management and reporting, including invoicing and accounts payable. In addition, showcasing her design flare by creating and publishing online marketing media.
Achieving a core DMP value within "Smart People" she recently successfully accomplished a Level 2 Foundation in Bookkeeping and is now planning on studying the advanced course.
In her spare time Claudine enjoys keeping fit and active with regular Yogo and fitness classes. All this exercise allows her to indulge in her guilty pleasures, which is; boiled marrow covered in a cheese sauce, Or a Bhuna curry, Or spaghetti bolognese with mature cheese on top!.... choices, choices, choices, this is making our mouth water!
Claudine enjoys playing super sleuth and detective while reading Sherlock Holmes. We're sure these talents will be put to good use while working with our "facts & figures!"
Claudine prides herself on her attention to detail, conscientious nature and being a fast learner. These are the perfect "ingredients" for a successful partnership.
Kat has been working within the finance sector for over 10 years and has been part of the DMP family since 2013. Katherine’s key responsibility is for financial accountancy and payroll.
Outside of work Kat succeeds in ‘balancing the book’s with looking after two children and also manages to find time to indulge in the silver screen.
Chloë Williams has joined the DMP team as a Assistant Building Surveyor. Having achieved an HNC in Construction, she is now currently working three days per week while studying towards Bsc Hons Building Surveying at Brighton University.
Interestingly, out of office hours, Chloë enjoys regular outdoor holidays and has climbed the Sydney Bridge, climbed a glacier and slept under the stars in bear territory, to name a few!
With a successful background in the Building Control and Housing Association Sector, Chloë applies her expert knowledge in Building Regulations and Planning, this coupled with her self management and impeccable communication skills Chloe is climbing the DMP ladder to success!
James proudly joins DMP on a 1 year Graduate Placement studying towards Bsc Hons Building Surveying at the University of Brighton. Interestingly a key module he is focusing on in his 2nd year is Construction Methods and Technology. James is excited to be part of the DMP team and is keen to learn all aspects of Building Surveying , particularly Dilapidation and legal disputes.
In addition, James is undertaking a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and continues to commit significant stamina to this prestigious title.
Bracken joins the DMP team as Chief Happiness Officer and Head of Time Zapping. This cute Retriever comes from a long line of beautiful goldies which are owned by John Whitlock
In addition, this cuddly canine is responsible for moral and security at the company. Her key area of expertise is to lay under Johns desk, sleeping and ensuring that all meetings stay on track, the perfect watchdog.
Our hovering hound is never too far for a cuddle or to be taken out for a executive walk.
Significantly, this four legged pooch is already set for promotion as Managing Director Office Mascot. We wish her all the licks in the world!

Following a devastating fire in 2013, Douglas Moat Practice managed the complex stages of the historic reinstatement of Webbs of Tenderden in the Jewel of the Weald.
Douglas Moat Practice design wins major shop front accolade. John Whitlock accepted the award from the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells at the Civic Society award ceremony. The design has been chosen by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council as the blue print for which all other conservation shop fronts should emulate in the vicinity of the Opera House.
Acting for large property Investment Company, Douglas Moat Practice were lead Architect for the redevelopment of a new 32,000 sq ft retail store, which was pre let to TK Maxx and included in the scheme was an additional 5,000 sq of retail space.
Douglas Moat Practice were appointed to assist obtaining a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and administer the contract for restoration.
Historic Royal Victoria House was part of this acquisition, where Queen Victoria frequented.
Douglas Moat Practice had a piece of the historical action delivering up the conversion of the ‘Red-Brick Co-Op’ building in Woolwich into 120 bedroom hotel in readiness for the Italian Equestrian team stay for the Summer 2012 Olympics.
